1. Before the first use: an essential step

Before setting your most beautiful table, take the time to prepare your linen:

Soak it in cold water for 12 to 24 hours, renewing the water to eliminate any residual finishing agents.
Then, wash each piece separately at 40°C with half the usual amount of detergent.

This initial care helps to fix the colors and preserve the quality of the fabric.

2. Machine washing: the right habits

Beauvillé linens deserve your full attention:

  • Always separate dark colors from the rest of your laundry.

  • Do not fold the pieces before placing them in the machine drum; insert them unfolded to avoid localized friction.

  • Select a gentle cycle at 40°C, which is sufficient for effective cleaning while preserving the fibers.

3. Stubborn stains: our tips for removing them without damaging your linen

Accidents happen quickly… but a stain is not irreversible! Here’s how to act with care and effectiveness:

What to absolutely avoid:

  • Rubbing a stain vigorously, as this can worsen the situation by embedding it deeper.

  • Using aggressive stain removers without checking the care label.

Our natural and effective tips:

  • Baking soda: Dissolve 2 tablespoons in 500 ml of water in a spray bottle, then spray on the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes, rinse with cold water, and then wash in the machine.

  • Baking soda + hydrogen peroxide: Make a paste, apply locally, let it act, and then rinse.

  • Grandmother’s remedy:

    • ½ cup white vinegar,

    • ¼ cup baking soda,

    • ¼ cup hot water.

    Gently blot the stain, wait a few minutes, then rinse with cold water before washing in the machine at 40°C.

For fabrics that allow bleach use (always check the labels), a diluted solution (20 parts water to 1 part 9° bleach) can also be used as a last resort.

4. For anti-stain treated linens

Some of our tablecloths and fabrics are treated to make daily maintenance easier.

  • A simple sponge wipe is enough to clean most stains that remain on the surface.

  • In case of an incident, immediately blot with a sponge soaked in warm water (without rubbing).

  • Wash in the machine only occasionally, with very little detergent.

  • Iron the linen inside out to preserve the treatment.

  • The tumble dryer is not recommended for coated tablecloths, but it can reactivate the anti-stain properties of non-coated linens.

Avoid for coated tablecloths: soap, detergent, dishwashing liquid, fabric softener, and bleach. The less product, the better!
