Before using your tablecloth for the first time
Before setting the table for the first time, we recommend soaking your tablecloth in lukewarm water for several hours or running an initial machine cycle without detergent.
This removes the natural fabric finish and helps prevent future stains from adhering too deeply to the fibres.
A slight shrinkage of approximately 4% may occur during the first few washes. This is a natural characteristic of cotton, despite the treatments used to limit shrinkage.
Always refer to the care label, as the recommendations may vary according to the fabric and finish of your tablecloth.
How to wash a coloured cotton tablecloth?
To preserve the depth of the colours and the detail of the printed pattern, choose a delicate machine cycle and use a mild detergent.
A coloured Beauvillé tablecloth can generally be washed at between 40°C and 60°C, depending on the instructions shown on its care label. Separate light and dark colours and avoid overloading the drum, allowing the fabric to move freely during the wash.
If you notice a stain, treat it before placing the tablecloth in the washing machine. Apply Marseille soap or a suitable fabric stain remover, testing it first on an inconspicuous area.
How to wash a white tablecloth?
Shake the tablecloth gently before washing to remove crumbs and surface dust.
White table linen can be machine-washed at a maximum temperature of 60°C with a mild detergent. Stains should be treated promptly with Marseille soap or a suitable stain remover before washing.
Avoid overly aggressive products and always follow the instructions on the care label to protect the fibres and preserve the whiteness of the fabric.
How to remove stains from a tablecloth?
Wine, tea or sauce may occasionally find its way onto the table. The most important thing is to act quickly.
Carefully blot away any excess liquid with a clean cloth or absorbent paper. Avoid rubbing, as this may spread the stain and work it deeper into the fibres.
Dampen the affected area, then gently apply Marseille soap or an appropriate stain remover before washing the tablecloth as usual. Do not iron or tumble-dry the fabric until the stain has completely disappeared, as heat may set it permanently.
Drying your Beauvillé tablecloth
Whenever possible, allow your tablecloth to air-dry. Hang it carefully or lay it flat to reduce creasing, avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which may gradually affect the colours.

Allow the tablecloth to cool and dry completely before folding or storing it.
How to care for a coated tablecloth?
A coated Beauvillé tablecloth combines the refined appearance of fabric with the convenience required for everyday dining.
Use a damp cloth or soft sponge to remove crumbs and small marks. Avoid abrasive sponges, which could damage the protective coating.
For more persistent stains, the tablecloth may occasionally be machine-washed at 30°C with a small amount of mild detergent, without fabric softener or a spin cycle. Bleach must not be used.
Leave the tablecloth to air-dry and never place it in a tumble dryer. If ironing is required, iron on the reverse at a low temperature without steam. Never apply the iron directly to the coated surface.
How to store your tablecloth?
Ensure that the tablecloth is perfectly clean and dry before storing it in a dry place away from direct light.
Fold it carefully or roll it around a tube to prevent deep creases. For particularly precious pieces, sheets of acid-free tissue paper may be placed between the folds.
